Sonoran Head Spa is a Japanese-inspired head spa in Tucson, Arizona, known for AI-powered scalp analysis and customized scalp rituals.
Every visit starts with the Sonoran Ritual (60 minutes, from $145). It includes a scalp analysis, a guided breathing exercise, a double cleanse and scalp exfoliation under warm steam, a neck and shoulder massage, and an extended scalp massage with a waterfall rinse. A second analysis at the end shows what changed, and the visit finishes with a rough dry and a specialty drink.
From there, the scalp therapists suggest a specialty ritual based on your analysis:
- Raíz for thinning and tired follicles
- Calma for sensitive or sun-exposed scalps
- Balance for scalps that swing between oily and dry
- Purifica for buildup, dandruff and flaking
Add-ons include Shirodhara, an aromatherapy herbal ball massage, LED light therapy and a facial. For a longer session, Plenitud runs 120 minutes and layers in a specialty treatment, aromatherapy, a facial, hand and foot treatments and a styled blowout. There is also a ritual for two and a shorter one for girls ages 7 to 12.
The space is an open room of six softly curtained beds, with desert tones and a calm, quiet feel. It suits anyone who wants a slow, restful scalp treatment with a plan tailored to their scalp. The spa is opening soon, and a waitlist is open on its website.
