How listings work

Head Spa Locator is a directory of head spas in the United States. Here is where the information on our pages comes from, and how we decide the order spas appear in.

Which spas we list

We list businesses that offer head spa treatments: Japanese-style head spas, scalp treatments and scalp massage. Listings come from public business information (such as Google Maps), from spa owners who submit their business, and from our own research. We check each one before it goes live, and we remove spas that close or no longer offer head spa treatments.

Where the details come from

• Ratings and review counts are from Google and refreshed regularly. Reviews written on our site are shown separately.
• Prices (“Head spa from $X”) are the lowest regular price for one head spa session that the spa lists on its own website or gives us as its owner. Prices change, so confirm when you book.
• Opening hours, phone numbers and addresses come from Google or from the spa’s owner.
• Descriptions and city overviews are drafted with the help of AI from the spa’s website, reviews and owner information, and are reviewed by our team before they are published.

The order spas appear in

On city, state and search pages, spas are listed by how many Google reviews they have, most first, unless you choose another order (highest rated, lowest price and so on).

Featured spas are an exception: a spa can pay to be shown first. Featured spas are always marked “Featured”, and no page shows more than two of them at the top. Featuring changes only the position. It never changes a spa’s rating, its price, our descriptions, the comparison tables or our answers to common questions, and we never feature a spa that visitors rate poorly.

Claimed listings

A “Claimed” badge means the spa’s owner has verified that they run the business and keeps the listing up to date. We confirm who runs the spa; it is not a review of its quality.
