Japanese Head Spa is a Scottsdale, Arizona, head spa known for Kyoto-inspired scalp care, scalp analysis and relaxing Yumi bed treatments.
Every visit starts with a scalp scan, so the treatment can be matched to your scalp and hair. The Signature Head Spa (from $195) is a 60-minute treatment followed by a 15-minute blowdry. It includes a scalp massage, a shampoo and conditioner blend chosen for your scalp type, a full-body massage on the Yumi bed, a steam eye mask, the water ring technique and a hot towel finish. An after scan shows the results. The 90-minute Ultimate Indulgence adds a red light comb treatment aimed at hair regrowth, a steam cap mist and a green tea rinse.
The owner studied Japanese head spa techniques in Kyoto, and the website says each team member is trained and mentored before working with guests. Guests can choose essential oils for aromatherapy and enjoy a neck and shoulder massage, herbal tea and cozy blankets. Reviewers describe a calm, clean space, therapists who explain what they see on the scalp and share home-care tips, and before-and-after images they found helpful.
It suits first-timers, anyone with scalp or hair concerns, and groups celebrating together. Parties of three or more are asked to call to book.
