Essence Head Spa & Massage

Essence Head Spa & Massage is a head spa and massage studio in Gaithersburg, Maryland, known for scalp treatments paired with head, neck and shoulder massage.

The head spa menu includes the Supreme Scalp Experience (from $160), the Luxury VIP Ritual, Thai Scalp Therapy and the Zen Scalp Ritual. The spa describes its scalp care as aimed at healthy hair growth, easing tension and balancing oil production. The VIP Ritual adds mini facials, and lymphatic drainage is part of the menu. Beyond the scalp, the studio offers Deep Therapeutic Balance massage, sports, hot stone, maternity and four-handed massage, as well as facials and body contouring. Multi-session plans are available.

Reviewers praise a calm, clean and pretty space, friendly staff and sessions that never feel rushed. One guest who tried the Zen Scalp Treatment described a water component, plus face, head, neck, shoulder and arm massage that eased neck and shoulder tension. Others enjoyed the hot stone and lymphatic massages, and the team made a birthday celebration feel special with a sign for the guest of honor.

It suits first-time head spa guests, people who carry tension in the neck and shoulders, and anyone who wants to combine scalp care with a massage, on their own or with family or friends.
